our story

Rose & Son is a vineyard-driven line of wines created by Jonathan Rosenson and winemaker Mike Roth as homage to Jonathan's family namesake, Rosenson. This wine pays tribute to Jonathan's family's story of immigration to the United States from France after World War II, and the continuation of that survivor's legacy being passed down to the next generation through their family business.

Bernie Rosenson and his son Jonathan have been in the hospitality industry working side-by-side for 11 years, with Bernie having a total of 40 years experience on his own. The Rose & Son label is Jonathan's mission as a sommelier and an effort to bring exceptional and unassuming wines to any wine enthusiast.

who we are

Winemaker Mike Roth, a New Jersey native, became interested in wine while in school in North Carolina. Roth moved to California and connected with Napa luminaries, including Nils Venge and Mike Grgich. At Grgich Hills, he became entranced with a leaner, fresher style of wine using biodynamic farming. Roth left Napa to study winemaking at Fresno State. Upon completion of his studies, Mike became the head winemaker at Demetria and Martian Ranch. Two years later, he left to work on his own wine,

Lo-Fi, with longtime friend Craig Winchester. In addition to Lo-Fi, he currently brings his viticulture skills to both Coquelicot Estate and Rose & Son.
